Welcome to Year 5
This term Year 5 will be enjoying a wide range of interesting learning activities that will enhance their academic and social development.
Our focus for this term is, ‘Bake It’ where children will be provided with the opportunities to part take in class projects and hands on activities.
We will be reading the play 'Frankenstein' where children will learn how to develop their writing and inference skills. Children will develop their writing through the different writing styles such as creative writing (writing a prologue),wanted posters, narrative writing and designing a model of a monster from clay or papier mache.
In Science, children will be exploring the topic, ‘Properties and Materials’ where they will be partaking in different experiments and discoveries. They will be learning how to use scientific evidence to support and refute different ideas and predictions.
Most importantly, we at Jubilee Primary are championing the importance of reading in this academic year. With your continuous support, we are looking forward to getting our children to develop a love of reading. Reading records will be checked daily to monitor children’s reading progress.
We have high expectations of all our children as we look forward to a great and exciting term!
