The Windmill Cluster of schools, including Jubilee, created art and poetry work around the theme of “Good to be Me” –well-being and happiness.
Children throughout the school created 2D or 3D art work inspired by artists such as Joan Miro, Claes Oldenburg and Keith Haring.
The process of creating the artwork helped the children to relax and recognise art as a way of maintaining their well-being.
It was hard to choose but some art work was put forward to be displayed in an exhibition, which was kindly hosted by the Edizoni Animali Studio at Saltoun Road, Brixton. The gallery was open from Friday 6th-Monday 9th June. Everyone who was lucky enough to be able to visit, agreed that the children’s artwork was improved by professional mounting and display! Apparently some people wanted to buy some of the art-work!
Many thanks to Rachel Thomas, the partnership manager for the Windmill Cluster of Schools, for organising everything and Miss Chabrat for being a gallery attendant for a day.
