Year 5 trip to the Imperial War Museum

On the 26/3/18, Jubilee’s Year 5 group went to the Imperial War Museum in Kennington. We have been reading ‘Goodnight Mister Tom’ in Literacy this term and we went to see what life was like in Britain during the Second World War. The children had a great time at the museum and were fascinated by the exhibits; particularly the ‘Family at War’ exhibition, which was an in depth look at the life of a real family that lived in South London during WW2. The children were really able to relate to what this family went through and were extremely excited to see and go inside the Anderson shelter, which they read about in Goodnight Mister Tom. Here are some photos of the children at the museum, trying on some WW2 uniforms.
